In the space of five years, one in ten French inhabitants will move to a different département, and the Limousin region has now emerged as a one that is more attractive even than Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Approximately 2,500 new inhabitants (mainly young professionals) settle in Limoges each year and the region attracts increasing numbers of British nationals. The City Council, Chamber of Commerce and a number of other organisations all contribute to welcoming them in the best possible conditions. A welcome booklet is sent to new inhabitants each month by Limoges City Council (Communication Department) and a welcome reception is organised in the presence of the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor responsible for new arrivals.
"Welcome en Limousin"The Haute-Vienne Chamber of Commerce and Industry has established an organisation for welcoming business employees under the name "Accueil Actifs" aimed at providing employees and their families with assistance in the formalities involved in moving to the area. The Welcome en Limousin Association was set up to encourage the promotion of the economy and tourism in Limousin to the foreign clientele using Limoges International Airport. The organisation offers a range of free services:
